Arctic by Brooke Holm

Brooke Holm is a photographer based in Australia, her work focuses on dramatic landscape and conceptual still life. Her series Arctic is a fascinating portrayal of natural Northern space, it reads as so peaceful, cold and pristine, that you can forget you’re looking at a living landscape. On a search for beauty, silence, and isolation, Holm found much more in her images of the Arctic. There is an element of fragility to these photos, which is especially poignant when we consider the ramifications of climate change, and what that could mean for the most sublime climate region on earth. Holm’s work reveals the Arctic’s rare aesthetic in an effort to raise awareness, and awaken an inner desire to protect this isolated region of our Earth.
